The cottage is located at Light Pass, just out of Angaston in the heart of South Australia's Barossa Valley and provides accommodation for
one couple.

The property consists of eighteen acres under vine, a house, indoor solar heated swimming pool and an 1860's German Cottage. It was named Strait Gate Vineyard and Strait Gate Cottage after the Strait Gate Lutheran Church in Light Pass, which the property overlooks.

Grapes from the property contribute to a number of premium wines including “The Mentor” from Peter Lehman Wines and “Johan’s Garden” from Henschke Wines. In 2006 SCORPIIION Wines made a Rose from Tempranillo grown on the property. This appears to be the first Tempranillo Rose made in Australia and, subject to availability, will be offered to guests.

The nationally accredited cottage has a 4.5 star rating with the Royal Automobile Association of South Australia and provides quality accommodation for two people.

When you stay at Strait Gate Cottage we provide everything you need for a hearty country breakfast, including: cereals, locally baked  bread, Schulz's famous double smoked bacon, eggs, tomatoes, individual Beerenberg jams, fruit juice, milk, plunger coffee, teapot tea plus instant coffee and Twinings tea bags. Port and chocolates are also provided.

We can make bookings on your behalf at local restaurants and organise winery tours if you like. There are no provisions for pets or children, however a fold-up bed is available for one child if needed. There are no special provisions for people with physical disabilities.

The Cottage includes reverse cycle air-conditioning and ceiling fans, a wood fire, spa bath, shower, bath robes, and a hairdryer. There is also fresh rain water, a colour television, DVD and CD player. Enjoy a barbecue with the bbq facilities and then relax under the private verandah enjoying the view. You also have use of the indoor solar heated swimming pool, ideal in the summer time.

All of this overlooks the delightful Strait Gate Vineyard.
